•  On October 8, 1979, IIM of Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) was formally founded, as a successor to the former East China Institute    of Components and Instruments for Automation, CAS, which was established in the 1962.

•  On May 2001,IIM involved in the Pilot Project of Knowledge Innovation Program(PPKIP)of the Chinese Academy of Sciences(CAS)

•  On June 2004, IIM officially entered into Knowledge Innovation Project of Chinese Academy of Sciences-Phase Ⅱ
