 IIM started its enrollment of graduate students in 1980s. By 2004 it had trained 80 doctorate graduates and 140 master graduates. In the year 2005, 220 students were studying at IIM, among which 60 are doctorate and 160 are graduate students. Academically IIM enjoys the following honors and prestige:

IIM provides a doctor's degree training program, ˇ° Pattern Recognition and Intelligent Systemsˇ±, and two master's degree training programs ˇ°Pattern Recognition and Intelligent systemsˇ± and ˇ° Instrumentation Technology and Automatic Devicesˇ±.
